HART Outreach Activities

Compassion Leads to Progress

Our HART volunteers put together a series of regular and seasonal outreach programs to support and connect with our unhoused neighbors. We partner with the County of Sacramento and Sacramento Covered in each of our programs with a Community Health Worker onsite to provide steps forward for each individual.

School or Court Ordered Service Hours:

All HART Volunteers must be 18 or older.

Some exceptions with a parent present will be considered on a case by case bases.

Court Ordered Hours:

At our discretion, you may be able to serve your hours with us.  If you have a paper or app we need to sign, that is great, please bring it with you each time.

Court ordered - You MUST Call or email us before signing up. We need to see your court paperwork and be prepared to let us know what your offense is before volunteering. We will not allow people with violent charges, sexual crimes, or theft to volunteer as well as some other offenses at our discretion. Please call 916-238-8868 or email info@ovfofb.org before registering the first time to discuss your situation.

Freshen Up Weekly Shower Outreach

Our weekly Thursday shower takes place outside Pathways Fellowship Church in Orangevale and is a collaboration with Pathway Fellowship, OV Woman's Club, and the Food Bank. We provide an opportunity to freshen up and get support on the next steps toward self-sufficiency and independence.

*Note: Freshen Up Showers will be canceled day-of if raining.

We're looking for community members who will partner with HART to address one of our most challenging issues. We accept in-kind donations, supplies, and also appreciate monetary donations to support our work.
